The Body of Christ

I’ve fallen into the depths

Of desperation.

Now I live here, joyously -

Humbled and erased.

*

I’ve run out of time and knowing -

The keys that unlock shackles

Even while the mind adores

It’s prison.

*

This is not a bad dream,

It’s nothing.

It’s nothing to reject,

It’s nothing.

*

Don’t go in, don’t stay out

Something more delicate and penetrating.

Some thing that breaks down walls

For everything is Home.

*

The soul tasting and touching

Transforms darkness into gold.

*

Can you feel the pull,

The gravity of what’s unconscious

Calling out the light in you.

*

It cries, it begs

To be shown it’s a real existence

And if you heed its call,

You too may fall asleep.

*

Everywhere Christ falls asleep willingly

Wakes up and blesses himself.

*

The whole world is the body of Christ

Wailing tears of longing

Transfigured to benediction.
