Living Emptiness

Last night

A dream

In the Himalayas.

A monk standing

Next to me,

Ready to fill

The space

With song.

I didn’t know

How to tell him

“I’ve seen

The world

As empty,

Nothing here

Exists”.

But instead

I noticed

A sea shell,

Empty

Among other

Empty things,

And wept.
